Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I’m Emma Mildon, also known as the Spiritual Personal Assistant. I am an International Columnist, #1 Best Selling Author, and spiritual philanthropist. As a world traveller, I have sought out medicine men, healers, psychics, authors, and artists to explore spirituality, channelling, and healing, and have also practiced meditation, yoga, and life coaching. Through it all, I have connected with like-minded soul searchers across the globe and aim to provide fun spiritual wisdom to my generation. I currently write for The Huffington Post, MindBodyGreen, Wanderlust, Yoganonymous and am the author of the Best Selling book, The Soul Searchers Handbook, available on sale now, which was named by MindBodyGreen in their Top 10 Wellness Reads for 2016. I am called the Spiritual Personal Assistant because my work helps people organise their new age life, think of me as a PA for your soul.
They call me a Goal Digger because I have recently…
Become a 3x best seller in the US, with my book The Soul Searcher’s Handbook. The book is being translated into German, Turkish, and Hungarian (random ha) and I am in negotiations for my next book deal. I have also been lucky enough to have been scouted by MindBodyGreen and over the next month am releasing a series of MindBodyGreen courses in Crystals, Tarot, and Dream! Was one of those pinch myself moments when I was sitting in a film studio in LA, the down-to-earth Kiwi girl next door. Still seems surreal thinking about it.
I was held back from achieving my goals when…
Rejection. I got over 300 rejection emails from publishing companies. But something in me told me to keep going. Did it bruise and batter me? Of course. Did I almost give up? Almost. Am I glad that I kept striving to achieve my goals? Definitely! Today even with my successful book and platform under my wing I still have hang-ups on rejection, and fear of people not liking what I do. The moment I realised that this was hand-in-hand with putting myself out there, and embraced it was when things really started to transform for me. So my biggest advice on set-backs is acknowledge them, deal with them, and keep going!
I’m a risk taker because…
Coming out of the spiritual closet was scary as hell! I work in a corporate environment where I was already labelled ‘woo-woo.’ I have friends who have told me coming out as being spiritual was harder for them than coming out as gay! Something I am campaigning to make more mainstream – crystals, chakras, auras seen as holistic living rather than woo-woo, so you could say I am a risk taker because I stood up to talking about spirituality and making it mainstream for millennials, and had to completely come out of the spiritual closest to do so. And I’ve never regretted it! Seriously, free you soul! Trust me.
My Kick-Ass Goals for 2016 are…
Releasing a six figure course deal with MindBodyGreen in the USA.
Working on my second book!
Launching my magazine, Wabi Sabi Magazine, and working with an amazing team of soul sisters and collaborators.
Technically that is just this month, not even looking ahead at 2016! I am in a total state of flow where every day I get a new idea or opportunity so it pays for me to flow rather than to plan…
I believe in a holistic approach to health and wellness because …
Why wouldn’t you! Seriously! Your emotions, environment, health, wellbeing – it is all connected. If you can harness tools to help you live your best, fullest life, then why wouldn’t you. Why would you live at 70% when you can rock 100% of your best self and live well.

The crystal that you absolutely have to have in your collection is…
Clear quartz! Everyone should have a clear quartz. It is all about clearing and cleansing helping to keep your space, body, and energy clear of bad vibes.
Something we could all have a little help with sometimes right!

Tune of the week …
I’m addicted to anything by Rüfüs at the moment!
Must read …
Blatant self-promotion…. The Soul Searcher’s Handbook.
When self-doubt and CBF creeps in you stalk …
When I just need to laugh I …
Watch Jimmy Fallon! That man can give me an ab workout. Watch his Hashtags, misheard lyrics. Hilarious!
While you’re here, lets set some magic and mindful intentions! In 2016 I will…
Do More … Acts of balance. Do more chill time! Super important when you are creative, inspired, and a workaholic like me!
See More … Of nature. Get out more! Another super important thing about being creative, being careful not to lock yourself up in a creative cave for too long.
Be More … Human. Stop beating myself up for not being perfect. For walking mid run. Eating chocolate. Or hitting snooze on my alarm. We are here to be human. Not perfect.
I invest in my body by…
I love to sweat. I find it can switch my mood from stress or sad, to physco happy annoying chick…. Good for me, bad for the unfortunate souls who are in my company post endorphin release haha I enjoy Les Mills GRIT®, Les Mills SPRINT®, and Les Mills BODYJAM®. I literally dance my worries away! This is something I know is important for my physical and mental health. Having had depression, it is something I am cautious of looking after. Endorphin’s are essential.
I invest in my mind by…
Writing is one of the most satisfying things I can do for my mind. I find it totally meditative. I enter a different state of mind. I definitely feel like I get taken over by someone else, like I channel. The words I write even surprise me sometimes when I read them over. I write every day.
I invest in my soul by…
Aromatherapy. Crystals. Meditation. Yoga. Sleep. Exercise. Sex. Chocolate. Wine. See = balance!
The best piece of advice I would give my 16 year old self…
The things you think matter don’t. The people you think matter don’t.
Your body, your mind, your soul, are the best tools you will ever have.
Focus on what you are doing, not the people around you.
It’s a solo race. The sooner you realise that, the quicker you’ll start winning….
My top 3 tips for living a kick-ass fulfilling life…
- Commit to your life’s purpose.
- Success comes with sacrifice, you can’t have it all sometimes.
- Don’t stop striving for what you know deep down in your soul, you are meant to be doing in life.
My typical day from AM to PM…
Every day seems to blow my mind at the moment. I am constantly surprised, and am in such a state of flow I find I have just had to surrender to the miracles that are greeting me daily. I am up at 5:30am usually for an interview or Skype with the USA. I then meditate, I love transcendental meditation. I work an 8-5 job as the Online Marketing Manager for Les Mills. I love my job! It keeps me evolving with marketing knowledge, and is in line with working with the health, wellness, and holistic community. PLUS it gives me money to invest in my purpose, something very important. One of the biggest mistakes people make is quitting their jobs. You will need money to live, and invest in yourself…After work I usually have a blog or article deadline to meet. Followed by another meditation. And then play time! I am trying to find a balance between an increasingly busy schedule and a normal life. So playtime is very important to me. My life is changing, as I learn to say no to more. And yes to things that are more important. Learning that I can’t do everything has been challenging and rewarding.
Connect with me on my social channels, it is the best way to keep in touch.
