Featured Goal Digger | Misty Sansom

Meet Misty, this weeks Featured Goal Digger. Misty got in touch with me to check out her e-book, Find Your Purpose, to see if I would be interested in giving away a copy to my GDNZ followers!! After reading the e-book I found that Misty and I 100% share the same vibe and are both on the same mission to help people realise there is more to life than their day to day routine with Misty specifically teaching people exactly how to find their purpose. Her work has been featured on the Huffington Post, the Daily Guru and in Raspberry Magazine. Naturally, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share this gorgeous soul and her message with you all. Read on to find out about Misty’s dreams, goals and motivations.

Tell us a little bit about yourself…

I’m a wife, mum and writer, and my husband, baby and I live in a little village by the beach. I love new experiences and little adventures, good food, road trips, learning new things, chilling at the beach, endlessly planning ideas in notebooks and creating personal growth tools. My life’s work is that I help people find their purpose.

I am the bomb diggity because I have recently…

Finished a beautiful eBook-meets-workbook designed to help people find their purpose and bring it to life! I’ve been working on it for a long time, so it’s been incredibly rewarding finally seeing it out there and hearing the amazing results and breakthroughs people have had with it. So stoked!

Celebrating and reflecting is a key part of our Goal Digging journey, when, what and how did you celebrate your latest achievement…

When I finish a big project, I usually take a couple of days off from everything to chill and recharge. So nothing major but it’s nice to relax before jumping into the next project 🙂

I was held back from achieving my goals when…

…I kept second guessing what I should or shouldn’t do. Taking a break and going with my intuition sussed that – as always!

I’m a risk taker because…

I’ve never gone the conventional route. I love adventures and experiencing new things.

The best part about setting goals around my passion and living life my way is…

Freedom! I can work from wherever, whenever. I can enjoy each day, head to the beach when it’s sunny, work around baby naps and take on projects that I’m excited about.

Top 3 bucket list goals ticked off…

1. Finishing my eBook!

2. Graduating uni with a business degree in May – it was extra special having our baby there too 🙂

3. Travelling. There are still a ton of places I want to see, but I’ve been to the three I’ve always wanted to see: Japan, India and Greece.

Top 3 bucket list goals to tick off…

1. I’m writing a longer book, so I’d love to see that finished and published!

2. To take a family round the world trip – would be such a different experience travelling as a family 🙂

3. To be fully self-sufficient in terms of food and our home – growing veggies and living off the land.

#WORD…

‘I am a part of all I have met’. This is a line from Ulysses; a poem by Lord Alfred Tennyson. These words really sing to me, as I’ve met and shared adventures and friendships with the most incredible people. And when you part ways, it’s often likely that you’ll never cross paths (in person) again. That can be sad, but knowing you’ve had a connection that will stay with you forever is heartwarming.

Get listening to…

Bon Iver’s new album – love Justin Vernon!

When self-doubt and CBF creeps in you stalk… because…

@Sejkko – he takes the most beautiful and kinda whimsical photos.

@Miannscanlan – love her style and vibe.

@Homepolish – dream home interiors!

When I just need to laugh I…

Play peek-a-boo with our baby – never gets old.

While you’re here, lets set some magic and mindful intentions! I will…

Do More… yoga! I had to stop yoga during pregnancy and have been taking it super easy. It’s time to get back into it!

See More… of NZ. We live in such a beautiful country. Can’t wait for summer road trips 🙂

Be More… meditative. I do my version of meditation most days (like just chilling and enjoying a beautiful view), but I’d like to explore different kinds of meditation.

I invest in my body by…

Because I’m breastfeeding and letting my body heal after a caesarean, I’m taking it super easy and filling my body with delicious rich foods! I’m listening to my cravings as things my body probably needs at the moment. Pre baby I was all about yoga, long daily walks and minimal dairy or wheat.

I invest in my mind by…

Reading every day, and avoiding mental junk food.

I invest in my soul by…

Spending lots of time outside (especially at the beach), just enjoying being there. No phone, no books, no plans.

My top 3 tips for living a kick-ass fulfilling life…

1. Do not feel like you have to follow the status quo. Do your thing, even if other people don’t get it.

2. Always be open to learning, discovering, adventures and new experiences.

3. And finally, find your purpose and bring it to life. This will change your life in so many incredible ways – you have clarity, direction and confidence in knowing what you want and how you’re going to do it.

My typical day from AM to PM…

I get up an hour before my husband and baby to enjoy a cup of tea, plan out my day and write. I work the day around baby naps, reading stories and playing, so once everyone’s up it’s breakfast, then I’ll spend a couple of hours writing, creating or working on whatever project I have on the go. We have lunch then usually head out to the beach, for a walk or to the park. I do more work in the afternoon, we have dinner, then I try and read for a bit before bed. It’s always flexible!
