DRUM ROLL PLEASE… Super excited to announce that Olivia O’Connor is this weeks Featured Goal Digger. Stepping outside the usual theme of having local kiwi Featured Goal Diggers – I couldn’t resist featuring this wee bundle of inspiration all the way from the USA. I’ve been following Olivia’s Dont Tell Summer journey since the very early beginnings of my GDNZ journey where I bit the bullet and started to follow my own dreams. She is truly inspirational with many of her visions benefiting and helping others on their pursuit to creating and living their dreams. (Check out Hats With A Purpose here) She is a coach like myself, a positive soul who has a passion for exploring, adventuring and travelling!! We are 100% on the same frequency and I can’t wait to share with you Olivia’s motivations, tips and advice for living a life true to yourself!! DIG IN!!
Tell us a little bit about yourself …
I grew up in Portland Oregon and after coming to Sydney on an exchange, I decided to move back! Before making the move, I started my blog, Don’t Tell Summer, to inspire people to do what they love, now. I realised that it can be easy for us to wait to do what we love and wait to feel like we can be ourselves. Here I am four years later, still in Sydney!
I am the bomb diggity because I have recently…
Haha! Held my first festival called #RadLivin! It was part festival, part conference, bringing together speakers, live bands and rad like-minded people to get inspired, share their dreams and celebrate livin’ life to the fullest.
I was held back from achieving my goals when …
I thought that because I had never done anything like putting on a festival before, I would have to work my way up to it. I thought maybe I needed to do a smaller event or multiple events before being able to just go for it. I was wrong!
I’m a risk taker because…
I put my heart and passions first. I never want to wonder what if – that runs a lot of the decisions I go for.
My Kick-Ass Goals for 2016 are …
Being free to travel (America + Europe) while creating new projects along the way.
My vision for Don’t Tell Summer…
Is to continue to grow a community of like-minded people who want to do what they love, now. Whether that’s saying yes to trying something new, starting a business or traveling the world, if it’s in your heart, it’s time to go for it.
Don’t Tell Summer feeds my soul because…
…it’s me. It’s exactly what I’m about and when I work on Don’t Tell Summer I feel like I’m being true to myself.
Top 3 bucket list goals ticked off…
- Traveled to Greece
- Put on a festival
- Lived in multiple countries with my friends
Top 3 bucket list goals to tick off…
- Explore more of America
- Have a sustainable, freedom-based business where I can travel whenever I want
- Go to a music festival in the states that I haven’t been to before (Clearly I like to travel haha!)
“What would you create if you had all the money to do it with?” – my dad. This quote allowed me to think big about #RadLivin and create something without barriers.
Tune of the week…
Kisser by Step Rockets or anything Beyonce.
The Magic by Rhonda Byrnes
When self-doubt and CBF creeps in I stalk my friend Christy, @brainonblonde because …
… she has so many photos of us from our festival and traveling that somehow looking at the photos I’m like, Ok. I’ve got this.
When I just need to laugh I…
Watch Logan Paul vines.
While you’re here, lets set some magic and mindful intentions! In 2016 I will…
Do More … of what makes me feel free.
See More … of America with the people I love.
Be More … relaxed by letting go and allowing the Universe to do its thing.
How do you invest in your body?
I listen to my body a lot – if it wants steak it wants steak, if it wants tim tams, then hey I’m on my way to Woolworths.
How do you invest in your mind?
I read a lot and listen to podcasts.
How do you invest in your soul?
Taking the time to look inward and listen to what I want, or read blogs like Vienda Maria or Connie Chapman.
The best piece of advice I would give my 16 year old self…
you are enough and things are about to get fun.
My top 3 tips for living a kick-ass fulfilling life?
- Follow your heart
- Keep a great group of positive people around you that want you to succeed
- Have FUN!
My typical day from AM to PM…
I feel like every day is different, I’m not one for routine.
- Make breakfast
- Call/skype friends if we’re working on a project
- Have lunch with a young entrepreneur or friend and chat about our dreams (this is one of my favourite things to do). I probably do this at least twice a week.
- Do some work on a project and read
- Go out to dinner with family or friends, see a movie or a live band. Other nights I just download shows on iTunes 🙂
